Analysis of tilapia raising efforts

Business analysis is an activity carried out by business actors to collect all important information related to the business they want to run. This is so that the business can run smoothly as expected. With this analysis activity, it will certainly help business actors to avoid everything that can cause businesses to experience losses. On the other hand, starting a business through good analysis will help business actors to gain multiple benefits.

The aquaculture sector is a potential sector for business analysis before starting. This is of course to avoid losses due to the production of dead fish. One of the suitable businesses to run is tilapia rearing business. Why tilapia? Because tilapia has a higher economic value than other types of fish. In addition, the market demand for tilapia is also quite high.

Tilapia rearing business is the same as other business ventures that aim to obtain maximum profits by spending minimal capital. The scope of fish culture activities includes growth control and breeding. Tilapia rearing business is included in growth control.

1. Tilapia fish business capital

Home and industrial tilapia business both require several things to be prepared. Therefore, we must prepare a sufficient amount of tilapia business capital. Below is an example of a detailed calculation of tilapia cultivation for a population of 1,000 individuals:

Assumptions used;

1. Round pond diameter three meters full set.

2. Density of fish 1,000 fish per pond.

3. Survival of fish 90%.

4. Cultivation period four months, one year three cycles.

5. Harvest size 3 (1 kg contents 3 tails).

6. The selling price of fish is Rp. 38,000/kg

That is the investment cost that we have to spend. However, in calculating the business analysis, we need to calculate the depreciation cost.

In addition to equipment, tilapia cultivation also requires costs for daily activities, namely for maintenance, feeding, supplementation, and others. This is included in the variable cost. Variable costs are costs that change with business activities. In other words, variable costs mean costs whose amount fluctuates depending on the company's operating volume. Below is the table for calculating variable costs as follows:

2. Profit analysis of 1,000 tilapia fish

The total cost of expenditure is IDR 26.179.500. We can only enjoy the benefits of tilapia rearing business after four months of harvesting the tilapia. The average weight of tilapia kept during that time, can reach 300 grams. That means in 1 kg, contains three fish. So the total weight of our harvest is as much as 300 kg.

The price of tilapia in the market today is around Rp. 38,000. So, the total sales results that we can get in one year are IDR 11.400.000 x 3 cycles = IDR 34.200.000 means the profit we receive from the sale-cost. The following are the advantages of tilapia farming:

IDR 34.200.000-IDR 26.179.500 = IDR 8,020,500
